It's the annual totally unrealistic delivery dates saga...

My items are on 5 day shipping, 2nd class post.

I've just sold an item where the buyer has been promised by eBay it will arrive on December 28th...

Now, even if you count today towards the 5 shipping days, that means it'll be the 27th before my 'window' runs out. And next day delivery for second class at this time of year? Considering the last posting date for 2nd class to arrive by Christmas was yesterday, a whole 5 posting days before the last delivery, that seems wildly optimistic. I'd be surprised if an item posted 2nd on the 27th of December arrived this year, never mind the next day.

It's crazy, according to ebay the RM 2nd class (RM48), will reach my customer faster then RM Next Day Special by 1pm.  This is so misleading for customers and completely destroying my INR rating. The never ending EDD saga continues...

If you think that is bad how about same day delivery? We were closed between 23-29 December, re-opening on 30 December and having scheduled all orders to be dispatched same day... Just to learn anything sold on 23 & 24 could be delivered apparently as soon as same day! This site is a farse.

That's crazy. And yet they continue to tell us that it's working as intended. I posted on the community chat about 2nd class and RM24 and SD all having the same EDD. Of course it's been passed to 'the team' which must mean 'thrown in the bin' for all it's worth because 'the team' have yet to come back with anything.

Spot on. I posted an item using 2nd class postage (buyer selected) on 6 January (one day after purchase as per terms) and eBay gave estimated delivery range of 7-9 January. Inevitably the buyer complains when it hasn’t arrived by 9th even though that was earliest it could conceivably arrived using RM 2nd class. There was not a snowballs chance in hell of the item arriving on the 7th when posted on the afternoon of the 6th. eBay setting unrealistic expectations and then leaving buyers to deal with the mess.
