Is eBay a place TO SELL OR NOT any LONGER? Is it dead / dying?

Does anyone else feel the same? Is eBay no longer a platform for sellers? During my years of selling on eBay, I've noticed declining traffic. The traffic and sales were so much better previously Is it the algorithm that is messing up people's businesses? Always been an "eBay Top-rated Seller." Used promoted listings, shop, keywords, specs, and delivery options including express, "free" postage, and "not-free", promotions. Nothing seems to work. Still getting sales if you can call it this way (0-3 a day), but nothing like it used to be.

Never actually stopped promoting (not at the full suggested rate but reasonable)

The traffic went dramatically down in the last 2-3 years. Just not picking up. Any recommendations, feelings, experiences, etc.

Thinking of leaving eBay for good... It's draining my energy trying to figure it out, but nothing works.

Economy. There is a lot of wealthy people out there but equally a lot of middle class to low income earners being hammered i.e. mortgage increases, cost of living etc. Also the impending doom budget end of November which couldnt have come at a worst time just before christmas. This will affect christmas sales as people will hang on to see just how bad the budget will be and believe me its gonna be bad. Especially if they do put up VAT like they are not denying. This is the worst financial period I have known including the credit crunch in trading for 25 years.

I suspect thats paid promos going through the roof aka not targetting ppl who actually want your items, Ebay quite good at that - I removed ALL promos about a year ago, impressions fell like a stone for a month then organic impressions returned to normal, Ill be damned if Im paying Ebay for no sales as well and of course the quieter it is the more ppl think they have to throw money at it - Ive just started an offer voucher of 20% spend off £30 and had 3 sales last night taking advantage of it - Id rather do that than pay promos, but its quiet out there.
