If you have the tracking for the item from you to GSP please put it into eBay, once the case it opened you can also add it if its not already. Your funds will be on hold but as long as you have proof you got it to eBay you are covered it just takes some time. You don't need to refund, just let the case take its time as long as you have proof its got to eBay and you have it uploaded.

You just need to prove delivery to the GSP hub
Make sure the tracking is entered into the case
IF the item was not received at the hub then you need to refund, but if you have proof of delivery to the hub, then eBay refunds the buyer
Make it VERY clear that it is a GSP item and as long as you can prove delivery to the hub you won't have to refund

As advised, provided you have tracking proving delivery to the hub then you are not liable for any loss or damage thereafter. If the buyer opens an 'Item not received' request then upload the tracking and add a message stating that under the terms of eBay's Global Shipping Program you are not responsible for items lost after they reach the hub.

Make sure the buyer opens a case in ebay. If they decide to open a dispute with their credit card provider ebay will not back you up.

Provided the tracking shows delivery to the address provided in the order details, i.e. the UK hub, then eBay should still protect the seller irrespective of the decision made by the buyer's payment provider.

The GSP system should be good, however its somewhat flawed.
We send everything tracked so the goods show as delivered when the arrive at the GSP centre in the UK, sometimes the Customer contacts us saying hes not recevied it yet its showing as delivered, this happens when ebay dont imediatley upload the next tracking no.
If there is a delay once eBay have become the new custodions of the parcel the customer inevitably either contacts us or opens an INR case
All because nowhere in the ebay GSP system is the Customer advised of who is shipping the goods.
Frustrating & time consuming
In my experience just call eBay most of the Agents are sympathetic to the problem and make it go away
