When are Ebay going to crack down on so called private sellers with hundreds or even thousands of items listed each month? There should be a sales or listings limit above which you have to register as a business.
We all know these people are buying to sell on and not just listing the contents of their houses.
I am going to have to stop selling to NI even though it's in the UK? Madness. But if I were a 'private' selller I could carry on selling to NI and the EU without conforming to these stupid regulations. Similarly, no fees for selling clothes if you're a private seller 😡.
Really wish I could downgrade my account from Business to Private but Ebay wont allow this. If I register another account I lose 20 years worth of feedback.
What are the other selling platforms like - Etsy/Vinted/Amazon? Will they have to enforce these regulations as well?

I agree with everything you say. I will also have to stop selling in NI and I am based in NI. I had put NI as a "non delivery "place and now, I cannot see my items in my shop as I don't post there anymore. What a joke... Its all getting too complicated, fees are so high, 20%+, also promoting your item etc...You sell an item for £10, you will be lucky to end up with a fiver. And eBay wants us to offer free postage!!!!! Auctions are dead, you never get what the value of the item is unless you start the auction with your wanted price but then, it probably won't sell.

The GPSR, regulations apply to all selling platforms.

And just to clarify that further, that includes your own website.
This is law, not choice. And certainly not something that ebay has brought in, they are just following the rules. Though possibly not in the best way they could.....
