For sellers offering Royal Mail and alternative couriers, how often do buyers select other couriers?

Royal Mail have been annoying me recently with many slow deliveries and possibly the most simultaneous INR cases I've ever had open since I started on eBay. A couple of deliveries took two weeks and several months ago one took 30 days - that one was fully tracked so I could see it go around and around in the mail centres.

Unfortunately eBay doesn't let sellers offer a very wide selection of delivery options. My default is RM 2nd class ("free postage") but I also offer 1st class and Special Delivery for the occasional urgent order. I also offer collection in person. This meagre selection is all that eBay allows me to offer because, for some reason, eBay doesn't want buyers to have too many options?

I could, of course, swap one of my existing options out in order to offer an alternative courier service. My question is: when buyers have the choice, how often do they choose an alternative over Royal Mail?

As far as I'm aware there can only be one courier selected per listing and it can never be choice between RM and Evri etc

So you need to either stick with RM or use a completely different service.

This is what is panicking people over simple delivery thinking there will be services they have never or don't wish to use, the buyer will only have one choice not several couriers to choose from.
