Ebay wrong policy

Just a few weeks ago I registered as a business seller. I lot of the listings I had on ebay where added when I was a private seller, they were without fees.

Ebay renew all the listings when I became business seller charging me the 0.36p for each listing.

I didn't renew the listings, ebay did automatically just to charge the money for each listing.

In my opinion, that is wrong, it is a wrong policy.

Ebay done dirty!!!!

Did you not look at what the fees would be for moving to a business seller account? ebay don't hide them

It does become beneficial to subscribe to a shop if you are listing a certain number a month.

Note that unlike Private Sellers - you can't add more listings on each month. If your listing renews - you'll be charged each month (unless you move to a shop subscription).

I have a shop. I didn't have it at the beginning when I moved to be a business seller.

With a shop or a not shop, it is a bad policy. The listings were free, it should remain free.

With the shop still paying for that free listings as you pay when you subscribe for the shop.

It is a bad policy.

I don't think any business sellers would disagree with you if I'm honest.

But UK business sellers have almost always paid a listing insertion fee. Welcome to business selling on ebay!

I don't know if anyone else spoke about these charges before.

business sellers have, as far as I know, had to pay a listing insertion fee.

You get a number free if you have a shop subscription. its been this way for years.

I'm not sure what you mean by if anyone else spoke about these charges before.

Changing from private seller to business seller. Ebay renew automatically all listing created in the time of private seller just to charge the listing fee instead of keeping the listing as they was.

When a private seller change to business seller, the listing should not change at least the buyer renew it. Ebay should not renew the listings. Ebay just do that to get more money. My ebay account or anyone ebay account should not be in negative from something that was listed free.

I wasn't aware that they renewed immediately on going from private to business seller (just that they would renew at the point their 30 day countdown ended).

but others may be able to confirm if that is indeed what happens.

They did after 3 days I was registered as business seller and they did in 2 days time frame. None of the lots would have finished in the time they did.

So annoy.

I hope eBay see this chat.

Very bad policy getting money they should not get. It is like stealing.

i think something is being lost in translation here, some of the things you are saying don't make sense.

ebay don't really review the forums.

I'm guessing that when you changed from private to business your previously listed for free items became payable.

As you didn't have a shop from the beginning you wouldn't be due any free listings until you opened a shop.

When you did open a shop any free listings included in that offer would only be included AFTER you opened the shop, previous listed items would not be included.

Personally i would of expected Ebay to cancel all the freely listed items when you changed from P to B and THEN charged you when you relisted any.

I’m not sure what else you might have meant.

EBay staff rarely respond to threads.

there is a community chat that takes place Wednesdays around 2pm. Perhaps ask your question then

Why they should become payable? They should stay free, I relisted before being a business seller. I should not get charge for all that lots. They were already listed. The listing charge are for new listings and not for the one already listed.

They didn't cancel the listings, they renew all listings automatically, not even sent me a message to tell me or to ask me to do it, no given a reason, they renew all listings and charged each 0.36p

Paying a subscription shop is still paying for each listing that was listed before became business seller. It is a disguised charge.

I was thinking some people working for ebay would read the community chat. Now I know I am wrong.
