Ebay Promoted Sales completely stopped *January 2025*

Hi

Any one noticed Promoted sales completely stopped. We used to get few sales via Promoted listings however past few days these have stopped completely. Unsure how this could happen as we are still a Top Rated Seller.

Any patterns noticed by anyone please share.

I would like to think they are going to ditch promoted sales, or I hope they do and stop the manipulation of the search engine giving us back a level playing field.

I’ve had a pretty poor month so far, although no worse than last January. 

I decided to switch promoted off 2 days ago, was barely breaking even when something sold! I have seen an increase in traffic and sales, that always seems to be the way though as the listing is deemed altered.

As a business seller paying fees I’d like to see some sort of automatic promotion included in that fee. 

Hoping the next week sees an uplift in sales.

I'm only a small volume seller. But YTD 2025, 54 of 56 sales were promoted, and this week (20-23rd inclusive), 7 of my 9 sales are via promoted .  As a comparison, 75% of my sales in 2024 were via PL.  There's probably some error in the numbers due to returns and time reconciliation etc but its safe to say eBay is still wringing it pound of flesh from me.

I have trialled stopping/reducing PL and my sales crash.

Something I noticed happening in my account towards the end of last year was late charging for promoted fees.

e.g. I'd check at time of sale and no promoted fee.

Then several days later I'd get charged a fee for that listing.

This happened to me but by week 3 they picked back up and now my sales are back to normal but with no PL fees - I wonder whether completely removing PLs effects the Algorithyms temporarily - Wouldnt put it past Ebay to put something in there that effects listings to frighten the seller into putting the PLs back on.🙄

My Sales conversion is sitting at 6.4%, Click through 1.3%
