If you got a New Years wish, what one thing with EDD would you change? Another seller said they'd like RM 2nd class to be estimated at 2-4 days post handling window and 1st to be 1-3 days to give buyers a real service choice.

hahaha brilliant results.
My wish would be that with royal mail 2nd class ebay put a realistic delivery window so buyers can be informed correctly that if they buy something today, it may arrive in 2 days AND it may arrive in 2 weeks. The buyer can then decide if they are willing to take the risk or upgrade.
If I was allowed 2 wishes, it would be that buyers cannot open a case UNTIL 2 weeks have passed from dispatch for 2nd class inline with Royal Mail claims.
Again it's all about buyers having an informed choice.

hahah this is perfect. SO many things I could say here but I shall tiptoe away quietly.

As a card seller, I hope you are having more luck than me. Over 20 refunds for INRs, all cards until today when one was opened for a parcel posted 8th December.

I won't count my chickens but I attempted a number of tactics this year.
I emailed every customer from early November asking them to allow 2 weeks for delivery, or get in contact within 24 hours to discuss postage upgrade.or cancel if the order was time sensitive.
The black Friday week I extended dispatch times to something like 2 or 3 days, but dispatched within the 24 hour deadline that I wrote in the email. Didn't mark as dispatched though until the eBay deadline.
Then early December I switched off free 2nd class letter post, and gave large letter as the cheapest option (with a Fee). Mainly because a lot of posties scan on delivery. But I don't ever put the code in the order so eBay can't mark me down if something is late.
12th December I switched off large letter as the cheapest option and made tracked 48 cheapest, paid of course. Still messaged people to say to allow a week and referred them to royal mails service update. Sales absolutely dropped off a cliff but actually I'm not bothered because I can still see many items taking a few weeks to deliver and it's not worth the hassle.
I switched off tracked 48 yesterday because I could see a few of my orders weren't moving in the system even thought they were sent Saturday. They've all started moving today so maybe I'll switch it back on, but I'm tempted now to just leave it at tracked 24 as the only option.
It's been such a faff, but I've currently got 2 cases open and those have been willing to wait 2 weeks. Im dreading this weekend and it'll likely be a load of messages coming in but at least I know most will have waited 2 weeks so I can just refund and claim from royal mail.
Also I put a auto reply in my emails so that customers are reminded that eBay make up the delivery dates and if they say 2-3 days for 2nd class it is wrong, please be patient etc , thanks for supporting my small home based business etc.
Sorry for the long reply, but it's definitely been worth all the faff to avoid Cases being opened after 3 days.
Hopefully your buyers will be generous and patient.

Well done, I stupidly trusted Royal Mail to do what they say they will. I’ve closed INRs and refunded. Others, I’ve cancelled the orders and refunded. So far, 23 refunded and growing. I know Royal Mail have opened the sacks and taken out parcels for delivery. Ive complained to Royal Mail but not expecting any compensation. Next year, I’ll be closing at the end of November.

I dont have a business account. So just take stuff to the post office and get proof, but don't blame you. I'm on a slow wind down. I've not bought new stock for a very long time now, since the Christmas with the strikes as I'd stocked up and then sales were terrible.
eBay doesn't give a damn either. I just wished they didn't allow customers to open cases before RM would agree something is lost.
I was reading the t&c for tracked 48 last night. RM don't officially give an estimated delivery aim for BT postcodes and many in the noth of Scotland and I bet eBay doesn't even take that into account.
eBay would be helpful if they encouraged customers to upgrade at checkout too but no, they just advertised other sellers products instead.
