time for action

too many members are visiting the forum regularly, day in and day out,without making any contributions to the discussions in any way or fashion,.please note and be aware,that members who keep visiting for weeks on end who do not contribute,will firstly  be warned,and secondly removed from the group, if they do not comply,the time where regular posters are keeping the silent majority updated and occupied are over,starting this saturday,membership visits will be logged..and action taken,where necessary

a few well done here and there wont cut it i am afraid,we are looking at more constructive contributions,we dont want to force members to feel they have to post,as that would be wrong,but we do now feel,that it is simply not fair that the regular posters are the ones day in and day out who keep the group active,far to many members are just coming on and reading the posts without making any comments this is not happening just occassionally,its happening every day,and we mean to put a stop to it,all we ask is this,we will help anyone with there collecting,no charge for our time,no charge for our info,if members who are genuinely intrested in collecting autographs ttm,give the group something back by contributing more to this group,not a unreasonable request i feel,come on group,lets make lurker liquidator redundant,this is a great group,and great groups are hard to find,more input would make this group exceptional,it would put british ttm collecting on the map,we are aware that some members do have limited time,with work commitements for example,but if you find the time to visit,please try and find the time to comment also,it would truly make a big difference,and would be very much appreciated

Have got to agree with the whole idea:) About time in my opinion.
I used to do a knock knock or get a really nice legend reply. The next thing you know is, several members who i had never heard of were sending me e mails asking for the address. So, for me it is a good idea to have the forum policed for "Lurkers"

no, it will not be a total ban initially,it will be a 90 day suspension,which can be lifted if the member stops lurking,and agrees to contribute at least on a occassional basis ,this would be monitored,if the lurking starts again ,the member will be banned for good,it will be a slow process also,because the new group system only allows no more than 5 emails per day,and at present,there is only me sending out the emails,some emails dont get answered,and some take a few days to be answered as well,ne 90 day suspension has just been activated on a indivual who has been lurking  for  near on a year ,,,it will be a very slow process,but it will be a start in the right direction:-)
