Nice to see United putting their money to good use and looking after an ex player.I think it's better this way where other people can see his medals rather than going to a private collector.
(After all it's only about a couple weeks pay to some of their current players!)

THATS BRILIANT NEWS, DELIGHTED NOBBY GOT THE MONEY HE NEEDED AND THE MEDAL DID NOT GO ABROAD AND WENT TO HIS CLUB, A FIRST CLASS RESULT.

Great news that man u bought them but still would have been better if they had just offered him the money without auction .still less than Rooneys weekly wage .

It's nice for the medals to be at Old Trafford, and a nice price they fetched too. It will help Nobby and his family a lot:)
However, as you know i visit a lot of the ex united players at there homes and believe me a few of them could really use a hand out from Old Trafford. I know that a few years ago they were given a little, and it was a Little, but no where near enough in my opinion.
So, if United can afford to pay the price they did for Nobby's medals then i think they should also think about the other united legends too.

#4 I agree just glad Nobby had the sense to sell them and enjoy the money....Good on you Nobby!

Good on Utd buying the medals and stopping them ending up abroad or in someones private collection, Good to see Nobby get a good price too as he is a true Utd Legend who played for the game not the money like they do now!

glad united bought em so well done to the club but i agree with paul, united could do alot more for the ex legends, and 1 or 2 of the current squad could hang their heads and learn alot from these guys

Its great to see that Man Utd have purchased Nobby's medals, so they can be see by football fans. Nice one Sir Nobby Stiles a true LEGEND.

Agree with everyone. Glad that MUFC have purchased the medals but should dig deep and help out some of the other ex players who need there help. Just glad they are staying in this country and the young kids can go and see them and hopefully inspire them to aim for the top prise.

nobby stiles is a true gentleman and i like everyone else am glad man u bought them and also think they should look after there older players there should be some kind of fund for them where maybe current players put o.5 or 1 %of there wage in surely they could afford it

Pleased for nobby as there was never a chance he could of given his medals to his kids, how do u decide who gets the world cup one you never could.
As for the older players totally agree, you think they could put a charity match on for them all, then the funds go to the ones that need it.On a bigger scale isnt this just down to society now how many world war vets live in poverty.Unfortuatlly we live in the me me society
