Starting with the failure.
Abe Vigoda - 29 days via USA
Looks way too neat for a 90 year old. Having looked around, it does not look right. My gut feeling is secretarial. I sent both pics.
Now for the two successes.
Jonny Wilkinson, OBE - 15 days
Well timed getting a reply this week after his news announcement. Had help from a good friend with this one - thank you. Picked up the book (like new) from a charity shop for 25p. This is the large format My World book. Brilliant book, and chuffed to get this back signed.
Marina Sirtis - 17 days via USA
My first panto reply of the season, and my first ever panto reply from the USA. Marina kindly signed my 8.5x1.5 photo and sent a signed panto flyer.

Great Marina Sirtis and Johnny Wilkinson reply-didn't realise they did pantos in USA!
Don't know Abe's signature but would expect it to be slightly shakey at 90!

a couple of great successes Nigel, love the Wilkinson book and really like the Marina Sirtis reply, had no idea Panto had spread to the US.
Have to agree with your view on Abe's graph, I have have a few from the older generation and that is amazingly neat if real

Two great successes Nigel. Like the Jonny Wilko book and the Sirtis pics and panto flyer. Shame about the first one though.

Great results. Shame about the first one if it is secretarial.

I would be amazed if it was not secretarial. More people should check for these. It's not just big name stars who have them signed on their behalf, but many film/tv cast members of varying role levels - especially in the USA.
I think there is a tendency on forums like this (and especially some others) to want to be "too kind" to people, and possibly spare some blushes. I see those blushes as positives though, as you are learning the truth.
I am sure many have doubts occasionally, and possibly think they do not have enough knowledge to question authenticity. However, by querying, you open dialogue and investigation which can lead to learning something new.
Every ttm reply received should be checked from the viewpoint it could be fake before even considering it as genuine. Use each reply as an opportunity to learn.

Two excellent replies. I really like Jonny Wilkinson's graph.
I'm more than happy for anyone to question any graph I put on here. I'd rather know that it isn't genuine. I have some graphs from when I used to collect some time ago and it is only since being on here that, I have found out they are secs. It's disappointing to find out but better to know the truth.

Great results well done.

A couple of great results that may reduce the disapointment of the possible secretarial
15-12-2011 9:49 AM
Having seen an example of Abe's shaky handwriting from mid 2010, this reply is 100% secretarial.
15-12-2011 10:32 AM
Sorry to hear that. The other replies look great though
15-12-2011 5:36 PM
