I passed on a signed Ben Elton Blast From The Past for £4 yesterday as I just do not get on with his fiction, and am not convinced I could have sold it for that. Likewise, no-one is touching the £10 signed Alan Titchmarsh that has been sitting on a charity shop shelf gaining dust jacket wear week after week.
I did get three books of interest this week though.
The Man Who Forgot His Wife HB 1/1 2012 by John O'Farrell - £1.50
Not a valuable book and probably worth what I paid for it, but I have read a couple of his books which can be quite funny, so thought I would give this a go.
The Man Who Drew Pooh HB 1/1 2000 by Arthur R. Chandler - £2.50
Probably my most interesting find this week. I was always fascinated with the Winnie The Pooh stories as a little kid, and this is a great biography of E. H. Shepard and a look at how his drawings evolved over the years.
A Thousand Splendid Suns Limited H/B 1/1 2007 by Khaled Hosseini - £1.50
Respected author who wrote The Kite Runner. This is one of the signed limited editions. Not read any of his books before, but enjoyed the film of The Kite Runner.

#6 Daz - Totally agree with you. I am a firm believer that comedy has no boundaries, and anything is fair game, but when Elton made his headline grabbing statement it was about sensationalism, not comedy. He was probably looking for a bit of publicity for himself. He even mostly back-tracked on his statement years later in a tribute show to Benny.
