Daz, everyone else - I'm probably still down on your list as a "lurker" who you'll be thinking of getting rid of soon. Hope you will bear with me a little longer. Don't want to bore everyone with my health issues but the latest setback is what now appears to be a spontaneously fractured vertabrae (initially dismissed by the A&E doctor as "just a muscle spasm") and the possible onset of osteoperosis. Needless to say, autograph collecting, and participating on the board, hasn't been uppermost in my mind! 😞

However, I enjoyed the previous week's episode of Doctor Who so much ("The Doctor's Wife") that I almost found time to write letters to Suranne Jones and the other two cast members who played "Autie" and "Uncle". Didn't quite get around to it though - but who knows, I may break my letter-writing fast shortly!

So, I hope you'll let me stay here and I'll try to participate when I can ...

Caroline - great to hear from you, but sorry to hear about your latest health problems. Fingers crossed the rest of 2011 is better for you.

"The Doctor's Wife" was brilliant - loved it. It had some brilliant character acting from the guest stars, but Suranne excelled in her part and was quite brilliant. One of the all time great guest appearances in the show.

Received a signed book you will no doubt have in your collection, as I remember you normally picked these up.

Dark Terrors Vol 1 HB 1/1 signed by 7 authors and the 2 editors. Had a bit of birthday money last week, so picked this up for £9.99.

I will add a pic in our Signed Books thread soon.

Thanks guys! Feeling quite a bit better each day - seems to be healing well. Even managed my hydrotherapy today - bet I'll be stiff as anything tomorrow though. 😞

Nigel - yes, that was a brilliant episode of DW and Suranne Jones was terrific. I really am going to have to start letter writing again soon ...

Dark Terrors, eh? Is that the Stephen Jones edited one? It was a kind of modern-day Pan Book of Horror (anyone else old enough to remember those?) when it came out. I don't actually have any of those, but I do have a lot of the authors who will be included in them, as you rightly suggest. My small press horror writers collection just keeps getting bigger and bigger! ]:)

Anyway, thanks for letting me continue to lurk Daz.
