I mentioned once before that as I was hitting a slow patch picking up EE cards I am missing, it was time to treat the old B&W preprint cards as variants. A lot of the early B&W cards were issued in two forms with the same picture - plain cards, and cards with preprint signatures (some white, some black).
I already had the normal card with this image, so picked this up to send off. Pleased to get it back signed with a fun note on a postcard. #516

Like many from Doctor Who, one of the great character actors recognisable from many productions. First time I have written to Christopher. He kindly signed all three 4x6 photos I sent and wrote a nice note on my record card. He is part of a select group who have appeared in both old Who and new Who. Nice reply.

When I last bught some charity Doctor Who signed pics I noticed they were selling signed pics by Philip, but they caught my attention as they were for a story I was unaware he had appeared in. I googled, and sure enough could not find any reference to the appearance. As such, it prompted me to write to Philip as I had never written to him before. I sent him two pics for his known Doctor Who stories (sadly no known stills exist for his Marco Polo appearance so I used a generic pic), a Bond postcard, a record card, and also included an extra Doctor Who pic for the story I did not think he had appeared in. I did mention I had seen this and was not aware he was in this particular story plus said to only sign the pic if it was him.
Great response today. He kindly signed everything and sent a note on his own stationery explaining I was right and it was not him, but he signed the pic anyway. lol He also kindly included a great limited edition Bond trading card. I thought he signed the Bond postcard I sent really nicely. Top reply.
