Just had a bit of an interesting find that I though I'd share with you all
I was going through some old records that my cousins passed onto me when my Uncle died and came across a box that belonged to my Great Aunt Phyllis. In the back of the box was a selection of photos and in amongst them was a signed photo of my Aunt with Richard Attenborough.
There are several photos but only the one signed. On the back of one of the others is the following text, typed out using an old typewriter:
Mrs Phyllis Savory of 43 St Olaves Rd, East Ham won the Ilford title "Pin Up Princess For A Day" in the Radio Luxembourg show of that name sponsored by the makers of Pin Up Home Perm and recorded in a London Studio last Sunday. Her wish was to "wander round a big London store all morning with £5 just to spend on fripperies, have a foam bath, massage, manicure in the afternoon and spend the evening seeing "Harvey"
O.P.S. Mrs Savory jokes at the microphone after winning the "Ilford Pin Up princess For A Day" title with the stars featured in the programme. Left to right: Richard Attenborough, Mrs Savory, Miss Anne Shelton and Mr Maurice Denham.
Both Maurice Denham and Anne Shelton went on to be awarded an OBE and Richard Attenborough a CBE so she was in pretty good company
I have tried to find a similar signature but whilst the Attenborough looks very similar to most I have found, they are all signed Richard where as on this photo it looks he has signed as Dickie
Anyway, here are the photos, dated 1950:
Sorry for the long post, just felt I had to share. I really hope the signature is real and given everythign else see no reason why it wouldn't be

I think that is a fantastic find and something to treasure. I have his sig frm about 10 ears ago and there are similarities on his surname. One of my all time favourites, and his Brighton Rock is still my all time favourite film. He might have signed as Dickie to do so in a more affectionate and friendly way. I have a Babyon 5 photo signed by the late Andreas Katsulas as Butch Katsulas.

No apology needed, Greg. What a wonderful find and an interesting story to go with it. No reason why he wouldn't sign that way to someone he knew. That is really special.
