I was sorry to hear this news on the radio this morning. I kept meaning to write to him too. I can never take him seriously in The Poseidon Adventure. I always think he's going to come out with some daft line. RIP.

Sad news, a funny man, and in the business for a long time. Forbidden Planet was 54 years ago and he had done a hell of a lot prior to that.

#5 - The only thing I have signed by him is an 8x10 poster photo for The Poseidon Adventure signed by Leslie and Ernest Borgnine. I also have another of these signed by Red Buttons. Brilliant film.

a great actor, brilliantly deadpan and also a great signer through the post. I got him many years ago and also about 10 years ago when he appeared in a one man play in Nottingham. I wrote to him about 6 months ago and he signed 3 of my photos but strangely dedicated each one to a different name??!!

sad news and quite sudden, he was doing the signing conventions up until very recently
RIP
