I have the utmost respect for all those serving in military forces everywhere but believe they need more support, especially after serving in combat situations. It is also time that outdated gun laws are revised to protect people from themselves as well as others.
This was another terrible tragedy. Reports suggest the soldier in question was known to be suffering from post traumatic stress. If so he should not be placed in environments that put him under pressure but eased back into a normal life. He also bought the gun from a gun store. If gun laws included checks against medical records to see if someone was currently fit to handle a firearm it might have limited his chances if carrying the gun at the time the incident flared.
I feel for everyone who was affected by this and other similar incidents.
Very sad news . I have two sons who served in Afghanistan and Iraq , you are right Nigel there is little or no support for these lads when they come home for these hell holes they are just left to get on with it themselves .
