When my wife sent me off to the Comic Con for my birthday earlier in the year, I had no idea I would get the bug again.
I lucked out with my favourite comic publishers Valiant relaunching, and have been thoroughly enjoying their five titles to date which have revamped old characters I used to read - Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Shadowman and X-O Manowar. Another that used to have it's own title, Ninjak, has already appeared in the pages of X-O Manowar. All five comics have been well received, and are gaining momentum with readership and popularity. You can get a peak at what I am reading in Valiant's comics from their cool website -
I have managed to pickup a few signed comics along the way starting with the Comic Con and a few since.
Today I could not resist poking my head into a comic shop in the town we used to live in before our last move. I ended up getting the new relaunched issues for Marvel's Avengers, Deadpool and Wolverine MAX, plus a Flash 0 issue to see what was happening over at the Distinguished Competition. I always liked the Flash.
Just like autographs, bloody addictive, and lots of fun! 🙂

Like you,I enjoy comics and have collected (mainly DC) comics for about 20 years.I've got most of the Batman ones over the last 40 years, and have large Superman,Green Lantern,Wonder Woman and Buffy/Angel collections with a number of signed Buffy and Angel comics and trading cards.
Can't beat a good comic!

I remember you telling me about your collection Rob. I still wince with regret once in a while when I think of my original collection, and whether I should have sold it, but it had to go. It is fun reading again, but I will try to keep it on a small scale, and am thinking of selling the comics on every 6 months to avoid getting caught in the collector's mindset.

Nigel,my wife wishes I'd done that with my comics, football programmes, football cards and stickers, autobiographies and probably a few more 'collectable' things I can't think of at the moment. She says I'm a hoarder for some reason!

I have the same issues with my books Rob - they are spreading through the house. My wife says it is like one of those sci-fi/horror films where some alien growth spreads rapidly. 🙂
