Jerome "The Bus" Bettis was a player for 10 years for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. He is one of the best of all time, and is my favorite player of all. He was my hero when I was a kid and he was the one autograph I wanted more than anything but could never get. He is part of one of the coolest sports stories ever. He retired in 2004 after losing in the semi-finals of the playoffs, never being able to win a championship. He decided at the age of 34 to come back for one for season, one more chance at a championship. The Steelers miraculously made it to the final in Detroit, Michigan, Jerome's birthplace, and won. "The Bus" left the game on top. Anyways, two years ago he had a TV show in Pittsburgh on the local news station. I sent a card to the station but never thought i would get it back. Last year the show was cancelled and i figured that ended all chances of me getting the card back signed. However, and very surprisingly, this showed up in my mailbox a couple days ago. Longest I've ever waited for a reply and definitely worth it!!!!! My absolute favorite autograph that I own now 🙂
