My 2012

Inspired by Nigel's post yesterday I thought I'd add my stats from 2012 (hope you don't mind Nigel)

I sent out in total 125 requests and received 67 back so a 54% return rate.  18 of those though were sent since November, many of them panto so hopefully most of them will come back.  Out of the other missing ones most of them are to the US so still hope for a few of them.

The stand out reply for me has to be my Steven Gerrard signed shirt (mainly because it is now framed and on the wall), closely followed by Victoria Pendleton, Jess Ennis and Alistair Cameron, the later mainly because I was the first person he has ever signed a Star Wars photo for as I was the first person to send him a photo of him in the deleted scenes he filmed.

That's a fairly similar return rate to mine Greg. Sports only collectors tend to have better success rates than those of us who write to agencies, etc for actors, actresses, extras, stunt people, and others. Writing to anyone in the entertainment industry requires more patience, and an expectation that not all requests will be returned, plus has a greater risk of being a non genuine reply.

You have had some amazing replies this year, Greg. The Gerrard shirt looks fantastic all framed up and it was quite a coup getting Alistair Cameron's sig.

Not to bad a year for you then Greg, collecting the acting side of things is a lot harder as Nigel stated, lot easier for the sports side of things, keep up the good work for 2013
