Hi everyone,
As the Subject suggests this post is about an actor called Ken Kitson. I am not sure how "famous" he is or even how well known but some of you might remember him from Last of the Summer Wine where he played a policeman in roughly 26 episodes, from what I remember him an the character Compo had several run ins!
Anyway, about 3 weeks ago my wife spent a few days in Scarborough with her Mum when she bumped into him doing a book signing, she approached him and asked if he would sign a couple of cards for me and Pete to which he said "I can do better then that!" and signed to photo's for her to bring me instead. This, I thought, was great and I was very happy to get them.
However it gets better! My wife took me to Scarborough for a couple of days for our Wedding Anniversary (without the kids!) and as we were taking a walk around the shops I saw he was still there. Now as I dont often get the opportunity to thank the people who sign for me I thought I would go over and have a chat. It was ace! He is a great guy, really friendly and has plenty of time for me. I thanked him for signing for me and the funniest things was when he told me that he remembers signing them when my wife had asked him! My wife had a huge grin on her face when he said he remembers her. So we had a chat about Summer Wine mainly, how his signing was going and of course about the lovely weather and his really good sun tan lol.
I tell you what I could have sat and chatted with him all day, he was such a pleasure to meet and chat with.
Not entirely sure how long he is going to be there for but if you are in the area it might be worth looking him up.
Just out of interest, how many of you know who he is?
Steve.

What a smashing story - I bet you were grinning for the rest of your anniversary. Yes, he's one of those: "where do I know him from?" actors!
