Thanks to everyone who has offered to send a birthday message and donation via Jack.

I have sent a message to everyone who has offered to donate and send a birthday message to Jack for his 90th birthday.

If anyone else would like to send him a birthday message and donation to the special school he supports, please message me in the next few days.

We had no post of any kind yesterday Brian. Hopefully it will arive today. I was sent home from work ill yesterday, so chances are will not get out today, so will be posting to Jack tomorrow. Am awaiting another that was sent to me Sunday night by 2nd class.

I would imagine that 2nd class this time of year would be a tad slower anyway.

Has any of the bad weather up north recently impacted services in anyway?

weather not that bad up here in the north west mate,few heavy showers now and againj.buts that it,,there was something in the press about a shutdown problem on the main post offices computer system,which is causing delays,apparently only bills were being delivered,something ive only had in the last 3 days

Thanks to everyone who sent donations for the school Jack supports. I sent everything of today by Special Delivery, so it arrives tomorrow as his brthday is Sunday.

I signed the birthday card with the names of everyone who donated. Sorry Jack - secretarial sigs. 🙂

Thank you to everyone who donated, I had a brief reply from the school today which I have scanned for everyone. I do not know the exact total, but estimate we raised around £200.

Thank you for the update, Nigel. I'm so pleased it all worked out and such a wonderful amount was raised. Well done to you for organizing everything through the forum.

It worked well. 6 from here, 3 from another forum, me and one of my work colleagues, plus a couple of donations got sent separately. The main thing is Jack knew we were thinking of him on his birthday, and the school had a gift of much needed money.

I received a lovely thank you card from the school today. I really wasn't expecting that but, it's nice to see how much they appreciated the donations.

Had a lovely letter from Jack and his wife. Jack's birthday raised around £2000 for the school which is brilliant. Sounds like he had a great brirthday also which is good to hear.
