Hello, im karen, Ive just joined this group and had a quick read of some posts, Ive not got a very big autograph collection, i started it last year after i came across a site where people posted addresses that they had received successful replies from, so i tried a few of them and was delighted when i did get replies.
Most of my requests were to America, i only sent one in UK and that was to Jean Alexander (Hilda) she replied really fast and apart from 2 signed pics with personal greeting on them she also took the time to write a lovely wee note on the back of one of them, how nice was that? but what really melted my heart was when i noticed she had put card in between pics to stop them bending and she had cut it out of a cornflakes box!! Showed what a lovely person she is.
Look forward to spending some time on here.

Hi thanks for the welcome, ive been reading through lots of posts just to get an idea of things, sounds like i must be the laziest collector on here when i see how many replies some people get in a week.
I just collect at a very leisurely rate, in other words, ive no got much haha.
Ive got to ask this, RTS =return to sender? i presume, but whats all these other ones, ive no got a clue.
Put me out my misery please.

So there's not many from my neck of the woods on here? maybe that's why i don't understand what all these letters that are shortenings are for? I even looked about to see of there was a list with there meanings!!!

Welcome Karen, it's always great for someone new to actively join a forum. You will find some diverse collecting tastes here, so plenty of experience to call upon.
It would be interesting to hear or see who you got from the USA. Many well known stars employ people to sign on their behalf (secretarials) or have staff send facsimile autographs (preprints, stamps, autopens). That's where forums like this can be really useful, and by posting pictures your replies you will soon find out if something is not genuinely autographed. People like Pacino, Travolta, Eastwood and many other big names are renowned for this. Many stars do sign genuinely though, and that's why this hobby is so exciting, as it is unpredictable.
