Sent Newcastle Utd team pic and three index cards to Gordon Marshall on 14/9 received back today.
Gordon Marshall was a goalkeeper who played for the following clubs a 22 year professional career;
Hearts 1956-63 (193 app), Newcastle Utd 1963-68 (177 app), Notts Forest 1968-69 (7 app), Hibernian 1969-71 (47 app), Celtic 1971-72 (0 app), Aberdeen 1972 (7 app), 1972-78 1972-78 (142 app). During his time at Hearts he was part of the 1957-58 League winners and won the League and League Cup double in the 1959-60 season.
When he was transfered to Newcastle they were languishing in the 2nd Div, but under manager Joe Harvey he became the first choice keeper and won promotion to the 1st Div as Champions in 1964-65

A great result Stuart and thanks for the info . He made a not entirely convincing debut for Celtic in a 4-2 home Drybrough Cup win over St Johnstone and the following month made his only competitive appearance when he was selected for the European Cup tie at Boldklub 93 in Copenhagen. His son also Gordon played for Celtic from 1991-98 and his other son Scott was on loan to us from 1998-99 .
