Sophie Cosson - 137 days

A bit of a relief to see this one. It was one of seven requests I sent for the episode Night Terrors. I normally get at least one quick reply when I send a batch for an episode, but did not for this episode. As such, nice to finally have a reply for the episode. Sophie kindly signed the 4x6 Doctor Who photo and index card I sent, plus sent a brief note.

another fine dr who success nigel,when i watch the old series of the doctor from the early sixties,you see the not so well names in the different series,who make up the plot as a whole,and wish that you could write to many of them,sadly most are no longer with us,just shows,its not always necessary to focus on just  the big names,:-) keep up collecting these nigel,i have a gut feeling,they will come more collectable in the future

It's not always about the ig names in autograph collecting...as a supporter of league 2 club Accrington Stanley...I'm just as chuffed as any prem league supporter when I get a match day programme signed. Keep em coming Nigel, Nice to see you replies from the Dr Who casts.

#1 Daz - it was sad I had to sell my original collection of signed Doctor Who cards for the move in 2007. I had so many people from the original series, many who have passed away in recent years. Despite that, it is fun collecting again. Hopefully this year I will find more time to revisit the old series - still plenty of interesting cast members out there, as well as the new series.

#4 Jamie - I cannot wait either - seems a long wait right now.

#10 Alex - I agree, it is not always about big names. With football we love our local team, regardless of status. With shows like Doctor Who, the supporting cast add some fascinating characters to each episode. Occasionally, someone I write to in Doctor Who actually goes on to become famous like Carey Mulligan. It is fun to see that happen, but truthfully, very rare. Same with EastEnders, very few actually go on to big careers. You do get the flip side with the new Who. It has been so popular since it's relaunch in 2005 that many well known stars now queue up to have a guest star spot in an episode. That has made it harder to get some autographs.
