Mark Killeen - 3 days
First reply from Saturday's Doctor Who episode. Mark kindly signed my 4x6 photo and record card. Quite surreal seeing someone dressed as a World War 2 German officer, and the picture signed in pink.
I used to be mad about comics, and had 12500 American comics before selling them (took 6 years to sell them). Every now and then I take a peek at Forbidden Planet to see which comics are still out there. Spotted this as a pre-order, and thought it would be fun to get -

Nice 'pink' reply Nigel!
You mentioned my other hobby after football & autographs-collecting American comics.
Have almost all of the Batman comice back to 1970 and a lot before then, plus all of the Superman ones back to 1980.

#10 - Rob - that was my big concession when I got married. My missus did not want the comics in our married life as they took up too much space and were expensive to buy on a regular basis, plus took up a lot of my time. I had collected them for years - mainly Marvel and I had complete runs of many key Marvel series that started in the 60s (including all the silver age keys like Amazing Fantasy 15), plus a near complete run of Strange Tales from #1 onwards in the 50s to the modern age. My big DC like was The Flash, and the later Vertigo comics. I also had a complete set of Valiant comics (the US comic, not the UK one). As I mentioned, there was about 12500 comics in my collection when I started to sell them, and it took 6 years to sell them. I have not read any comics seriously since about 2006, but I do still take a peek at what's going on from time to time as it was a big part of my life. I probably only have about 20 or so comics left, mostly signed ones, plus one page of original artwork signed by the artist from a Babylon 5 DC comic.

Nigel,I mainly read the DC comics but never got into the Flash. As you say they take up a lot of space-I've got about 14 full comic book boxes not including two separate storage boxes with about 500 Batman and Detective comics in each.Problem is you read them once or twice and then they get filed away-a bit like my signed football cards!
