Have been beavering away on my new db/site while off for a couple of weeks. Nowhere near ready to publish on the web, but getting there. Am splitting my time buidling the design, and building a seed file with all the data I need to populate it with from my existing collection.
Here are some pics of my first stab at this. It will probably change/evolve over the comming months. Right now I plan to add a search tool to the right hand side of the screen, and have other functionality to add such as user rights/login. Text in white is a link, text in blue is a function, and text in black is just text. 🙂 Each image can be clicked to see a larger version in a new window or tab. What do you think? How do you find the colour? I wanted a radical change to what I had before. My missus says it looks fresh.

Wherever you are in the site, you get the menu options to the left, and I will be adding breadcrumbs (not done yet) across the top. Clicking on on item gives you a page like this -

If the item is signed by morethan pne person, you can add multiple autograph entries with individual details per sig. This can look like -

Although not pictured above, you can also add more than one image to an item as well.
Finally, clicking on a person can give their details, and link to any items they have signed like the following example -

I am working on what you see when you look by category or genre, and I now have the A to Z of people working. I have already exported over 2600 names from my current site as a start, just need to add all the item and autograph details for them - that will take a while.
