Expected Liverpool Failure

I tried writing to Jamie Redknapp via the Liverpool Academy where he will be one of the Academy coaches.

I received my cards back unsigned together with a letter stating that to help supporters you can email them and they will email you a signed photo of your favourite player!

My 8 year old daughter summed this up by saying-why would you want that as it's not real?

Looks like even less replies from Liverpool this season.

Poor form that. If a club like Man United can return as many requests as they do there's no excuse for any other club really apart from they can't be bothered.

I am gobsmacked they are trying the emailed facsimile autographed picture route. Many celebrities tried this about 7 to 8 years ago after the internet boom that started in 2003 dramatically increased the number of autograph requests they received. They dropped it as a bad idea. A physical autographed item will never be replaced this way as the fans want something special. No-one is stupid enough to want an emailed facsimile. It is bad PR as it just goes to show Liverpool think they are far too superior to honour autograph requests from their fans. It is a very low attitude from the club.

There is a flip side to this. I do however believe that if someone emails a request for an autograph, they should just get one of these emailed facsimiles back for being lazy spongers in the first place.
