I was delighted to get my Bertie Auld reply a few days ago and this reply has just toped it off . There is a bit of a story attached to this reply , I got an email from Keith at Sportinglegends about a signing they were holding with the Lisbon Lions in Glasgow I asked Keith if I could send him two of my cards for Tommy to sign , I was too late to send them to his office so Keith told me to send them to the hotel where the signing was taking place which I did . I didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks so I messaged Keith to find out if he got my cards and if they got signed he told me they had been overlooked on the day and so they were not signed but he had been in touch with Bobby Lennox and he gave him an address for Tommy so Keith very kindly sent my cards on and asked Tommy to sign them and post them back to me , he did and they arrived back today . Thank you Keith for going out of your way to help me .
Tommy Gemmell signed for Celtic on 25 October 1961 and he made his debut in a 5-1 win against Aberdeen on 5 January 1963 he went on to play 434 games and he scored 69 goals the most important was the equaliser in the European Cup final in 1967 he also scored for Celtic in the European Cup final in 1970 .
Tommy won 6 Scottish League championship winners medals two Scottish Cup winners medals four League Cup winners medals and one European Cup winners medal .
