Hi guys,

Yes, even i can get it wrong:) I wrote to Mr Bernard Hill of Yosser Hughes and King Theoden fame, at a private address. I searched on the electoral roll and found 1 yes 1 Bernard Hill living where i had tracked him down to. Today, i received a nice, but dissapointing letter. Please read. Never mind, will have to keep trying. Oh if any of you can help with a private address for him i would be grateful:)

Dear Mr Liddle,
Thank you for your kind letter, i'm afraid Mr Hill is unable to answer your letter or even sign anything at the moment. He is not in good health at the moment and has asked me to reply to your letter.

I'm sorry to inform you that you have reached the wrong Bernard Hill. My father is an RAF Veteran of the second world war, as a family we have always pulled Dad's leg about an actor having the same name as him, and joked saying some day a fan may try to contact him.

Your letter has made us smile a bit today, which is really good. We hope you do manage to find the actor, i too think he is brilliant. I often wonder if he is a distant relative, but Hill is a very common surname.

I have done this a couple of times. The first time when I was starting out in ttm collecting. I was after an old actress called Rosemary Johnson, but my letter was forwarded to a young actress trying to get into the business of the same name. She got a lot of mail for the other Rosemary, but it turned out she was getting it as the one I was trying to reach had passed away some time before. The second time was when I tried to write to actor Tom Clegg, but wrote to director Tom Clegg by mistake. The latter's reply is well worth having in it's own right as he is a well known director.

Hi Paul ive just realised who Bernard Hill is..... his the one who sank the Titanic!! joking aside my mate services his aga (Cooker) and i know his address is in Norfolk somewhere mate as this is where i am, i may ask him his address next time i see him but unsure if he will pass on but i will try for you.
