James Earl Jones - 470 days via Driving Miss Daisy
You win some, you lose some in this hobby. Had my two pics returned unsigned with a handwritten note saying too busy to sign due to a hectic schedule. Not the end of the world as I did have a success from Mr Jones in 2009.

I sent to him around the same time, Nigel. I'm not hopeful for a success although, like you, I got his sig when he was over here before.

unlucky Nigel. He is over here again later in the year so might be worth another try

Try once he is in the UK
Bit to quick to hit the Post button!

Just to point out - this was from a UK via venue request in 2011 as was the success in 2009, so although I will of course be retrying later this year, it is no guarantee.

Shame about that Nigel. He is here in Oz at the moment (touring with Driving Miss Daisy with Angela Lansbury). The show tours till the end of May - I can swap some stamps if you want to give him another go.

dont get many failures from you mate, but never mind, its all part of the hobby, you win some lose some:-)
20-02-2013 6:53 PM
Yep, as mentioned before Daz, I average about 12 failures each year. Not bad considering how many I send out.
From what I can see with these James Earl Jones failures, it looks like he has a left a pile of pre-signed "sorry" letters for his staff to send back. I need to verify whether it is handsigned or autopenned.

Sorry to hear that Nigel .

I keep forgetting I have two pictures signed by him. One from when I first started collecting 13 years ago also.
