This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Good morning friends

This morning sees me coming to the end of my Atkins inspired diet. I hope my recipes have helped you all and as well as being very tasty they are all really good for you.

Today's final and rather late Atkins inspired brekkie comprised a pithivier of roasted wart-hog testicles with a boiled egg rinsed down with some lightly simmered slug slime. This was followed by a lick of the streets of Notting Hill to calm the old breath down.

I thank you

Goodbye.

Mornin' everyone 🙂

No WI yesterday because of BH. Had a great weekend although I didn't point a thing and ate curries, chinese, pizza, fish n chips :_| but when I weighed myself at home it said that I have lost 3lbs! 😮 🙂

I am going to get straight back on track this week and hope to lose some more before next week's WI. It's strange how when you have a blow out you can lose weight and sometimes when you track religiously you put on weight!

Jay & Sparkle, get back on track!! Best of luck to all who have WI's this week. 🙂

Hi everyone

I will never understand diets, in the last 3 weeks I've had (off the top of my head, there will be more!):-

Burger Kings
Ice Creams
Chocolate Croissants
Pizza (last Friday & Friday & Sat the weekend before)
Jaffa Cakes (whole packet!!)
Garlic bread (several times)
Alcohol
Loads of Cheese on baked pots etc
etc
etc

Went to WI last night, didn't look at the scales & heard "well done", looked down and I'd lost 1lb.

Other weeks, I stick to it ridigly and put on - anyone figure this out!

7lbs to go till I get to my target weight.

Come on everyone, motivation - we can all do it.

Well I made it through this week by the skin of my teeth! lol

I lost 1/2 a pound!!!!

Well chuffed with that, although I know really it's just not good enough!
I am back on track today & have about 7 weeks till my holiday.
I will be here forever & a day if I don't get fully motivated.

C'mon we can do this!
Why does fattening food taste so good? lol

& well done lily & all!

Off to make a salad sarnie!

see yas soon

Lily I don’t understand it either lol! The weeks I track and point everything I either lose ½ lb, stay the same or put on. When I eat near enough what you had listed I lose 2-3 ½ lbs lol.

Sparkle well done hun. I know what you mean though, Christmas is just round the corner and sometimes losing ½ lb or 1lb can be a little annoying because I suppose we all want to lose it quickly. I have been drinking 3 litres of water a day to try and see if that makes a difference at next Monday’s WI. My god I don’t half go to the toilet a lot!:^O

Hi, I'm back off my holidays in Cornwall, where it seems there is a wide choice of naughty things to eat, clotted cream teas, pasties, cornish ice-cream, lots of fish and chips etc, and of course just to be polite and enter into the holiday spirit I ate 'em all!!! Oh, and went to the pub every night!

And I lost 1 lb this week!!!!!!!!!

How wierd!

Went clothes shopping today and my 1 stone loss so far as resulted in my new jacket being 2 sizes smaller, my trousers being 1 size smaller (don't mind that as I am top-heavy) and my SHOES being a size smaller too!!!! I never thought about losing weight off my feet, and it wasn't a fluke pair as I tried on loads of shoes today! (Mom had the kids and I was let loose in Birmingham by myself - BLISS!!)

Anyway, back on it now!

Kate

Was never seriously overweight but since moving in with my boyfriend 2 years ago I started to get a bit sluggish
lots of cooking, take-away movie nights, etc.
about 3 months ago i was at my lowest-no energy at all! I would come home, collapse on the couch and crwal to bed a few hours later.
On the weekends my energy level was so low that it was even a challenge to clean our small flat.
Decided to go to gym - i must say i've never done any sport in my life - at all!!!
That changed my life.
Eating heatlthy now comes naturally as well and coke and fatty fastfood doesn't even taste good anymore.
did not loose an amazing amount of weight in the 3 months but feel so much better and can see that something is happening. It's addictive and has changed my life.

Well done Kate!
& lol @ the munch out! so hard to resist in those circumstances lol but what the heck, ya got away with it lol.

Oooh, that must have felt great to buy the smaller sizes!
I can't wait for that day.

Our son (4yo) starts big school a week on monday so I am going to make the effort (with the extra time on my hands)to rejoin the gym, after 5 years of no proper exercise.

I still have our 18 month daughter to play with each day but it will be so much easier to put her in the creche for an hour every now & then, while I try & get fit again.
(I had two caesarians which didn't help with the fitness regime).

I have also made an enquiry about hypnosis to stop smoking (haven't heard back yet but it was only this morning lol) so now I am going to take the bull by the horns & sort myself out!
One way or another.

Feeling very positive today 🙂

I haven't been writing down my points, have been doing it mentally up until now so I will put pen to paper in a mo'

Good luck everyone, will let you know how I get on :^O

Thanks Sparkle, you sound so full of motivation at the moment. Good luck with giving up smoking as well, that's something I intend to do one day as well.

Hi Everyone,
Reading through all the posts and I too think this is a great idea , I'm 5,3 in height and have around 3 stone to get rid of - been to all the different classes, but going on my own now - have to find the will power to last more than a couple of weeks (this is my problem) a week and a half before my period I turn into an eating monster - cannot control my cravings...so my main hurdle is getting past that , I fine I more or less put on what I've lost and its just a vicious circle with me getting frustrated at just going up and down , but not actually getting anywhere - any others with this prob - any suggestions?
thanks

hey melody

know what u r talking about.
i used to have midnight-attacks
and sometimes i wake up early in the morning an my body is screaming for sugar

i've stopped shopping for snacks

anything you can eat out of a packet does not enter the house

if the only thing you have in the frigde is cabbage and asparagus you don't feel like eating any more.

as to the exercise:
i go every day after work for 1 hour. and i force myself to go every day. if i'm not feeling like exercise i will still go and swim a few lanes instead of doing propper workout.

weekends you can allow yourself a break and can even have a take-away. as long as you are back in the gym on monday.

and soon you'll look like me:

hihihi
