This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Good morning friends old and new,

One notes during one's absence that one's diet took rather a turn for the worse. You will all be pleased to hear that I am back and eating very carefully.

This morning's Atkins inspired brekkie was a ficassee of rum-infused slugs with a boiled egg rinsed down with a glass of lightly whisked badger blood. This was followed by a suck on Kerry's Wellington boot insoles to calm the old breath down.

I thank you.

I gained this week too - she wrote down 1/2 lb but she'd worked it out wrong and it was actually 1 1/2. I know I should have corrected her but didn't.

So being extra extra good this week.

They taste lovely.

They contain lots of iron and zinc. Very healthy.

Mind you, I follow the slimming world plan and they are 8 sins per small amount (not sure of the exact size).

Taste yummy though. Also very filling.

just popped in here to happily anounce that I have lost half a stone in the last 2 weeks!

(but that's after a disastrous 3 months during which I gained 19lb -eek!)

still - back on the straight and narrow now, and my WW leader is under strict instructions to send the boys round if I so much as miss one weigh-in.

Some examples of foods I eat.Pumpkin seeds; Sunflower seeds; Dried dates; Lentils; Broccoli; Most other fruits and veg; Garlic;Onions;Grape juice.Very small amounts of chicken (half chicken breast daily). Steamed haddock. Herring once a week. No dairy; no red meat;definitely no fried! Ten minutes on the rowing machine followed by twenty minutes on the stationary bike per day. Weight training twice a week. I look at all foods as nutrition and have a food list which I have compiled of acceptable things to eat. If it isn't on the list it don't get eat! I am very buff and I've never been fat so I don't count calories. How much do you hate me now?

Yep, who in the country could possible deal with the stigma of being a "boring eater". After all, if you are what you eat then it is inevitable that people who choose not to harden there arteries and reduce the blood flow to the brain must surely be less witty and less interesting? That follows doesn't it? I mean people that eat "boring foods" probably don't read books or go to the movies? Probably haven't got any qualifications or money either...stupid boring-eating nongs. I pity them.
Seriously, if you are creative with even a limited number of foodstuffs you can come up with something interesting. I find that if I stick to the boring stuff during the day and then make something a little more interesting for dinner then I don't feel that I am missing out at all.

John - I must have a boring diet too because I follow a vegan diet 🙂

I was vegetarian for years until deciding to go vegan. Yes, I am overweight by about a stone but it is (slowly and sometimes up and down) coming off. I also feel more energetic and my mood has lifted since switching.

So I'm with you - you are what you eat.

Good morning friends

Today's rather late Atkins inspired brekkie was a woodlice and wasp crow's egg omlette ( whites only ), with a boiled egg, rinsed down with 3/4 of a litre of gently juiced veal bladder. This was swiftly followed by a forced snog with next door's Alsation to calm the old breath down.

I thank you.
