This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Thanks ivvie & lily

I am doing as you say now, I have only had 7 points so far today but we are going to have a BBQ later with chops, new potatoes (made into potato salad with spring onion & LF mayo) & salad *8-ish*.
I am going to have a snack before then but will try & keep it to a minimum.
I will be glad to get this week over with & face the music on tuesday!
Lesson learnt me hopes!

Thanks for your advice, it's really appreciated.
Have a great day 🙂

Good to hear that Sparkle! I am a big fan of Hellmans Extra Light mayo - tastes just like their full fat mayo but is only 1/2 point per 15g.

I'm about to go to Asda - I wonder if they sell motivation? I need some!

Good morning everyone

Sparkle, don't despair, stick to your points and re-motivate for next week, we can all slip and then pull back again. I had a really good day yesterday, felt like I ate all day.

Cereal - 2
Toast & Ham - 3½
Ice Lolly - 2 >
Golden Light Crisps - 2 > had these while walking & playing football in park with 4 year old nephew
Vegetable Soup - 0
Chicken, baby boils & ratitouie - 6
WW Icecream, sugar free jelly & pear halve - 2
Total - 17½ points - Saved 2½ (for emergencies)

Beautiful day today - I think good weather is great motivation for walking. Going to go for a long walk after work!!

Hi Everyone

Ivvie - just been to my Asda, couldn't find any motivation so if yours has got some I will be putting in a complaint to the management and tell them they better start stocking it PDQ!

Don't know what's been the matter with me the past couple of weeks. About to put my house on the market so pretty stressed which could be part of the problem.

Sparkle - stay positive. It might turn out OK - one week I had 44 points (gave up counting after that) and when weigh in happened, I'd lost 2lbs (still don't know how or why).

Mary - do you work? I find Sunday's really easy (it's my only day off) and wondered if you were the same.

Hi everyone, thanks for your support!
I went shopping on a mission yesterday & have kitted myself out with the most healthyist foods, fruit & veg' possible! (boy! It cost a fortune lol)
BACK ON TRACK NOW! for definate!
Now, this isn't a get out (honest lol) BUT I won't be able to go to my meeting tonight as my siss & BIL are over from the isle of wight (ferry'd across this morning) & we are having a get together tonight, in the form of a buffet!
I am going to check with my mum, what's on offer & if necessary I will take my own selection!
See! Told ya I was being good! lol
I have 26 points available today & when they are gone, they are gone!
No more borrowing off the next day for me!
So far today I have had cerial & a satsuma (4).
The children love fruit, so I am going to join them each time they have some.
Hope everyone else is keeping/getting positive too!
have a great day 🙂

Mornin' everyone or should I say afternoon LOL 😛

Well had my WI yesterday and lost ½ pound. Still I suppose better off than on and I'm pleased to lose any really since my blow out on Tuesday with the pizza, never again! :_|

Went shopping yesterday and bought loads of fruit and veg, and I forced myself to cook last night so as to not let it go to waste. I have started planning my meals in advance and if possible I prepare my lunch to eat at work the night before, that way I don't have the temptation to go out and buy junk food.

Here's a shocking fact for you, I checked my bank balance yesterday and I managed to save just under £500 from not eating takeaway/junk food/rubbish!!! 😮 I know this because normally when I get paid my account is nearly empty and I just couldn't believe it! It seriously does add up, as an example I did some calculations;

Let's say in one week you have;

1 MacDonald's meal: £3.20
1 KFC meal: £3.75
1 pizza hut meal deal (if you have a partner): £12.99
Popcorn/drink/hotdog (if you went to the cinema: £8.00
Chinese (Friday night takeaway?): £10.00
Indian (Saturday night if you're staying in): £15.00
Kebab (on the way home from clubbing?): £4.00

Weekly total : £56.94
Monthly total : £227.76!!

That's a scary thought isn't it! And that doesn't even account for things that you buy on your way to work like crisps, drinks, sandwiches etc!!

Hope everyone is having a good day 🙂

Lily my Asda didn't have any motivation either! So I just went along to my meeting this morning and had a chat to my leader.

I feel a bit better! I lost 2 lbs so have 2 more to go to get back to where I was before we went away and so there are 6 to lose to get to goal. My leader has set me the target of getting to goal by Tuesday 20th July (5 weeks away) so that she can take me out to lunch to celebrate before the schools break up on the 22nd! That could well be achievable! So I will give it a go! 😄

Sparkle good to hear you in a positive frame again. You are doing the right thing. Do you live in Hampshire by any chance? I live just north of Portsmouth (just outside Waterlooville). A buffet should be OK cos you can pick what you want - just go easy on the alcohol!! Have fun though.

Well done everybody, you are doing great. I think this board is really good for motivation. I tried my wedding dress on again at the weekend and the petticoat is getting less tight which is fab - just what i want. Don't know how much I have lost, probably only a few pounds over a few weeks but thats fine with me.

Ivvie - just want to say Hi as my parents live in waterlooville, small world isn't it!

Good luck everyone,

Rach

Hi lily

I do work, Monday to Friday 9-5, I find both Saturdays and Sundays alot easier. I think it's because I get up later and look after my nephew on a Friday night and all day Saturday and sometimes all weekend and he definitely takes my mind of food.

Ivvie, it's great that your so close to your goal again, you could definitely reach it by the deadline. Good luck.

Hi ivvie & everyone 🙂

I had chicken tikka (from the chilled cabinet in s/burys) but only 3 small chunks, cut up to spread them out in a french bread sarnie with (oh no!) butter lol
*made it around 8 points*. Didn't have a lot of time!
That brings me to 12, then I just had a cucumber sarnie with dressing (no butter) @ 3 points.
I now have 11 points left for later & I will not go over that tonight.
There will be salad & cold meats & salmon so I should be fine!
Rembath, when is your wedding?
Will not have any of the "goodies" but will take a lemon yoghurt & put it on some fresh fruit!
I am going to do the driving tonight as we have the kiddies with us & hubz works hard & more than deserves a chilled night. Awwwwwwwww!
I live in Luton ivvie, my sister moved to the island just before christmas & has just popped over for a get together as it's her grandsons 3rd birthday (my grt nephew).
I am going over with the kiddies in july for a week so that should be good too.
Will give you a wave as I pass lol.B-)

Have a great evening everyone & well done for the 2lb loss
ivvie & the 1/2 lb dark angel........that's brill!

Hi Everyone - think we all deserve a big group ((((((hug)))))) to celebrate losses as it's been a difficult couple of weeks but we've stuck at it.

Sparkle - maybe just as well you can't go, you've got this next week to refocus and be positive. I only put on once (2 weeks ago) and it put me on such a downer.

Feeling a lot happier today - 1.5lbs off.

I've finally got my 3rd Silver 7 (taken me a month to get the last 1lb off LOL) and only got 3lbs till I get to my next stone mark. I def think it helps the motivation if you can "see" the next Silver 7 or stone is within reach.

Dark Angel - You should save up the money you save for something special (hol etc) and then you can say "being on WW paid for my hols". I'm not one for take-a-ways but mainly due to my Crohn's and the practicalities of eating out rather than not liking them.

Red Mary - Seems like there's a simple solution to our weight problems - we need to give up work!

Rembath - when's the wedding? Good luck.

Hi...

I have joined Weight Watchers 6 weeks ago.

I have lost exactly a stone after just 4 weeks and have lost another 5 1/2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I have now lost exactly 10% of my body weight and have 3 more stone to loose.

It is not only the healthier eating that helps, but the whole change in diet has inspired me to start exercising and be more active.

My partner and my 2 year old son is also benefiting, because although they don't eat exactly what I eat, they are eating much more healthier than before. And my partner says he feels less tired and feels generally much better.

I am now allowed to apply to be placed on a stemcell and bone marrow donor register, because I am no longer unhealthily over weight.

Hi Amber

Well done - that's a fantastic loss. It took me 3 months to get to my 10%!

Sorry to hear you not 100% - a friend of mine had a stemcell replacement a couple of months ago and, fingers crossed, things are looking positive for him. Great news you can now get on the register.

Hi lily_lass...

Thanks for that.

But I am not ill. I have wanted to become a donor but was not allowed to if I was over 12 stone.

My brother has leukaemia but he is in remission now and that is what has inspired me to want to become a donor.

Hi Amber - (sorry). It's a great thing to do - I wanted to go on the registers but they wouldn't let me as I've got Crohn's which is a bit of a pain.

I might look into it again as it's been reasonably stable for a while now - still get the odd bad day though.

Hi sparkle and lily lass.

It is a big YIPPEE from me today David weighed me this morning and I have lost 1/2 a stone boy am I glad that has gone. David is very strict with my meals evenso he makes some lovely ones, I suppose I,m lucky really I don,t have to do all the preperations etc he does all of that. In some ways its like having one of them personal trainers or whatever they are.

I,m off now something has just hit me I hope you don,t think I,m being insensitive or anything, I,d better go sorry if I,ve been an ass.

Made it through the buffet with no alcohol lol. (well just a few sips of red wine, didn't fancy it to be honest lol)
I am starting my day tomorrow with 25 points in the bank!
I took some sh@pe, greek style, lemon & orange yoghurts & they were really yummy.
I turned down all the puds on offer but just had a wee taster of the chokky cake lol, that was enough to satisfy my tastebuds lol.
So I will see you tomorrow with my next update.

Nite nite! 🙂
