This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Hi unistudent - you can usually pick up vouchers for free registration to WW on their website and in mags.

You can go to any WW meeting in the country so you should be able to transfer quite easily when you move.

They to do a 3 month savers online package - think it's about £50 - which works out quite a lot cheaper.

Hi all

Thanks for the responses. I'm graduating next month, so hopefully £5 a week won't be too expensive once I've managed to get myself a job! It's just that £40 is quite a bit for initial outlay when you don't know if you'll suit it.

Plus, being the cheapskate that I am, I keep thinking how I lost almost 4 stone without anyone's support. In fact, today's the last of my two weeks on Atkins and I've lost something like 10 pounds in that time.

Thanks for the help!

Good morning everyone!
Brekky consisted of just ready brek today!

Decided to have my normal points this week & just cut out the butter.
If that goes well, I will try & go down to 18 points next week.

Hi Sparkle

When I first started WW I only lost 1/2lb for the 1st couple of weeks. My leader suggested 18 points for the next 3 weeks. I did this (but very hard) and lost 2 - 2 1/2 lbs per week. I then went back up to 20 points & it's been coming off at 1 - 1 1/2 per week, which is fine for me.

Apparently my body needed that wee extra "shove" to get it into weight loosing mode!

WW are doing a free registration til 1st June at the moment which means you don’t have to pay the joining fee of £9.00.

If you go on their website you enter your postcode and it will tell you where your nearest meeting is held, just turn up with the voucher and fill in the form and it is £4.75 per week. At your first meeting you will still have to pay £4.75.

I have lost 4 ½ pounds in the two weeks since I joined.

Good morning everyone.

Went to WW meeting on Wednesday night and put on 1lb. Bit gutted as I didn't go over my points, but didn't exercise and didn't eat very healthily so I think that's what done it. So I have to try harder for next week to shift it again.

Well done to everyone who lost some this week!!!

I bought myself loads of ready meals ready for my strict 7 day plan and then went and left the freezer door open last night - all ruined :0(

Can't afford to replace them so looks like the 7 day plan will have to be stopped for this week. Ah well, I can still calorie count I suppose this week.

afternoon everyone

568# It sometimes happens that the first week you dont lose anything as it has caught up with you from the week before 😄

But if you know you have been good and not gone over your points it will show next week , bear with it

Still, just done a tae bo advanced workout. If that doesn't shift the pounds (wears off 800 calories an hour) nothing will.

Good morning everyone!

Sorry ta hear about your freezer Jay!
I'm gonna have to start writing my points down again!
Think I have been ok, apart from a bottle of red wine saturday night (7.5 points, I think).
So I have until tomorrow night to repair the damage!
*Hmmmm remember being at this hurdle last week*
Got to get off the slippery slope before I end up back at the start!
If I don't lose this week I am putting myself straight onto 18 points a day, without fail!
If I don't write it down, it's so easy to dismiss yesterday & just think about today, when some of todays points have already been used! lol
Gonna have a test run at the 18 points today & tomorrow!
Had dinner at my mums yesterday & I asked for new potatoes instead of roasties lol.
It all helps!
Then she made a fruit pie & custard for pud, just had to have a little bit!
Wish now I hadn't but it was gorge'
*could kick myself*
Never mind, i'm back on the straight & narrow now & 100% focussed from here on!

Morning all

Weigh in tomorrow - not had a good week as I've been really p'd off. Had 6 WW choc bars yesterday! Suppose at least they were WW ones and not "normal" choc though.

I've also not been strict about writing what I eat down which I think makes a big difference.

Write off this week I think and get re-focussed for next week.

Got my weigh in tonight. Did okay this week so hopefully will have lost something.

Best bit was when I had a friend over who I haven't seen for a while and she asked me if I'd lost weight. I said yes and she started asking me how I'd done it and how long it took etc. I was well chuffed. She's not the sort of person to mention peoples weight and it made my day.

Fitted into a pair of jeans I haven't worn for ages as well.

Fingers crossed for tonight.

Jay
