This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Clare xx

Any exercise is going to be benificial to your weight loss , but as you have said a common problem is wanting more to eat .

A quick feed after a run , should be something like a orange juice and a banana . That should stop the hunger pains.

Exercise helps you lose weight and tone up the weight loss , but a good fast walk is just as good as a run 🐵

In the year I have been at weight watchers I have only eaten my bonus points once! (Needed them for a big occasion.) I exercise to help the weight loss so it seems pointless (no pun intended) to eat them. I don't find exercise makes me hungry though which is great. I drink a lot of fluid afterwards as I work hard!

Drew - join ww! I have lost over 3 stone and I still go to Pizza Express, have Indian Takeaway, eat crisps, chocolate (particularly curly wurly's) and other normal things. As long as you count the points you can eat what you like.

Going to the class is great motivation. It helps to chat to others who are in the same boat and everyone has tips and encouragement. I started at home but my weight loss was very up and down - started to go to a class and it has been a lot more down than up! (And they don't shout your weight across the room for everyone to hear!)

I think part of it is also that you have to really want to lose weight. Not just say "I want to lose weight" but to really mean it. And you won't succeed if you are not doing it for yourself! You have to want it and to be prepared to work at it. Gosh I sound so bossy but I speak from experience.

(Lindi I am in Hampshire - where are you?)

Just seen this thread

Im well pleased after my weight loss, after having my daughter in 2002 I went from a size 10/12 to a size (large)16 to 18.

Now after walking and cutting back on things I shouldn't eat Im down to a size small 14. Although Im finding sooo hard to shift this extra all over inch, I really want to get to get into my size 12 jeans again. And my lovely tie dye fitting dress (without the bumpy look) Said I was going to start today, but have only just got all my fruit, yogs and special K. And I just had to get rid of that choccy in the cupboard you know..just incase I gave in to temptation.
Tomorrow my official Special K diet starts...;\

I got to my goal weight last night! I started at 13st 4½lb; I've lost 3st 1lb and now weigh 10st 3&frac12lb!! My goal was 10st 4lb, so I'm actually below it - I'm really chuffed with myself. It took me just over a year, which is a long time but I was determined to stick at it - and I did!

I want to lose a couple more lbs to get me to a nice round 10st, then I'm going to start the horrid business of learning to maintain.

Hurrah!!!

(I'm 5'6" by the way)

Hi Mrs Stag,
I think there are some SW peeps here.

Cant remember who, off the top of my head though.

I USED to go to SW meetings, but found the hi carb diet played havoc with my blood sugar levels.

I know lots of people LOVE it though, and swear by it 🙂

Hi clare,
I opt for the 'original' red as I am allergic to gluten, so the 'green' carbs is out for me, I eat so much fruit, veg, yoghurts, fish, meat and poultry Oh, and I don't do without my RED WINE either, I am so passionate about this, it really works for me, whereas I have tried, WW, Atkins, Cabbage Soup (windy diet), grapefruit diet, and so on and on,
thank sue

Hi again Mrs Stag,
Yes, i found the Red days much better, but quite hard for me as i'm not mad keen on meat.

I'm really glad you have found something that works for you.
That is half the battle.

So tell us a bit about yourself, how long have you been going etc 🙂

Its nice to have a bit of background.
And i'm sure all the other SW'ers will pop in to say hello when they see your post.

Clare & all despondant slimmers!

I have lost 15lbs in 9 weeks, am 45 and menopausal (thats really when the problem started) I started the menopause at 40 which is relatively young, and grew this rather hideous 'rubber ring' round me lower stomach, hips and thighs, (at least I wouldn't drown!!), my aim is to lose another stone maybe stone and a half, the speed loss will probably slow right down as I am on the home stretch, I hope I inspire some despondant people, give it a go,

Lindi - I had a call from the Area Manager today.... My interview is next Thursday (13th) at 10am! Yeah! I got through the first bit! (Now I need to buy a new interview outfir cos all my smart clothes are way, way too big!)

Was disappointed this week as expected (lost the half I'd gained last week so still stuck) but dropped to 18 points and naughtily weighed this morning and the scales are heading downwards again. Yippee. Fingers crossed for a better result next week! (Interview nerves could now play a part and I might lose even more than planned!!)

Keep your fingers crossed on Tuesday (weighing day) and Thursday (interview day) please.

OOh ivvie well done , you will be fine , just go nice and smart but not over top , i have been on interviews where mostly they go casual , maybe a nice pair of pants and shirt or a suit if you have got one .
