Item sold as faulty, buyer requests return as defective

I listed something as "used" not "for parts", because it is mostly working with an issue.

I put "working with issue" in the title, that it "appears to work other than the issue" and "sold as faulty" in the description.

The buyer has claimed there is a second issue with it and requests a return for it being defective and suggests I should have listed it as "for parts".

Postage both ways is an expensive loss for me personally.

Am I on a hiding to nothing here, and regardless should just refund and move on (albeit quite upset)?

Thanks.

Item sold as faulty, buyer requests return as defective

I can't find the sold items on your Ebay account, but, for most categories, Ebay define 'used' as: 'An item that has been previously used. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended.'

So, your buyer is right to expect a fully functioning item.

You will have to accept the return.

If you don't want to pay for return postage, then you can refund without the buyer sending the item back.

If you sell items that are not working properly, you should always list them for parts/not working.
