who pays for the return postage on a faulty item

Hi, I have bought an item for 59.99, it is faulty and I need to return it. I have been given the return postage info from ebay but do I have to return the item and then they refund the postage to me or do they organise it?

If eBay have provided you with a prepaid returns label then it will have been at the seller's expense.  The prepaid label is only for domestic transactions and only issued for 'item not-as-described' cases, which covers faulty, incorrect or misdescribed items.

If this was an international transaction then you pay the return postage and hope that your seller is honest and will reimburse you.
