Seller wants cash on collection.

Interested in buying a tent from a seller, who says they would prefer to be paid cash on collection. It is a lot of money, and so I was wondering if you are protected by eBay, should the item be faulty in any way, or simply if there are any problems. Am used to paying via PayPal, and not sure of protection should I purchase something paying cash.

Cash is always the best idea for collection items.

As a buyer you get to examine the item thoroughly before you pay and if the item isn't as described you can walk away with the money in your pocket.

There is very little protection if you pay by paypal for a collection item as you are deemed to have examined the item when you collected.
