RM and courier charges

Hello

If I buy an item for £30 from the EU I believe there are no Customs or Import duties payable.

However will I still have to pay the RM charge(£8?) for clearance?

Thank you

RM and courier charges

Import Vat is added by eBay not the seller.   When the seller sends the item they have to complete customs paperwork and include eBay's IOSS number which informs the carrier that Import Vat has already been collected.

There is no VAT threshold so import VAT will be due.  EBay should collect that at checkout, in which case there will be no courier admin fee.

Thank you for your reply.

The seller apparently adds VAT as you say, but I was wondering how the courier knows about the value and  the fact that there is nothing more to pay without making the charge?

Thanks again
