We share our home computer with our school-going children for their school work. Recently I have received an email from eBay to purchase an adult sex toy products which I never viewed not even viewed a similar item.
It's really embarrassing and clearly Harassment from eBay itself, not from a product seller. eBay failed to comply with customers' privacy .insulting its own customers. shame on eBay.
Ebay won't send email like this, if you looked at items they will send details of similar ones.
Make sure you always log out of ebay when not using it & clear cache & cookies, so ebay does not send details of ANY similar items.
At the risk of being shouted at, if computer is used by all members of household, anyone could have looked at ebay.
EBay is unlikely to send you random messages about for adult sex toy products. Their targeted messages are based on members' viewing or buying history.
If sharing a computer with your family, it wouldn't be exactly unknown for children to have explored adult items when no-one's around!
If your children haven't been peeping, you could have unknowingly downloaded some malware. This will be placing unwanted ads on your screen, typically for porn or get rich quick sites. To get rid of this, download and run a malware removing tool, like malwarebytes-antimalware.
Again... eBay arent harassing you. Clearly someone in your house had a look at such items... Shouldnt be a big deal?
And forgot to either clear it from watch list, or forgot to clear from the 'Recently viewed'
Is it really so embarrassing.
