I prefer a real 🌲. I tend to trim the bark off at the base and plonk it into an old beer barrel which I fill with water this prevents the tree from dropping its needles everywhere. Artificial trees are convenient and easy to maintain but they just don't do it for me.

I don't bother now,  but when I did it was artificial. Far simpler, take it out of the box, open up the stems and plug in. 10 minutes and all done. Same in reverse on the 12th day as well

I like the smell of a real one and used to have them years ago, but I got fed up of the mess. I've had an artificial one for many years now. I do think it's worth to get a very nice one. They might cost a bit, but they will last for years.

If you are creative you can always make some other decorations with real branches and other evergreens to bring some of the nice smell in the house.

I'm just starting with the X-mas decorations. A bit early but my youngest came home for the weekend and wanted to see if I had some stuff for her house, so I brought all the boxes down and everything is all over the floor now. I love decorating at X-mas. It's the best part for me. Smiley Happy

I so like the smell of real Christmas Tree pine. Lovely memories I have of years gone by. Just now I have an Artifical Tree, like a Spruce Style.

I dont bother now either.

I lost interest in it when I realised it was just a way for getting people to spend more than they can afford.

Just another day to me.

Come on you miserable lot. Christmas only comes once a year and it is a time of celebration😃🍾 I think it's what you make of it.

Very true Cd but Christmas only comes once a year and that too is worth celebrating.

I prefer the look of a real tree, but I do think it's sad that millions of beautiful trees, growing nicely, are chopped down before their prime and moved into warm houses and hung with baubles. I just love trees, and like to see them growing, and somehow they lose their dignity when used for a short temporary festival. I don't celebrate Christmas as such, but prefer to mark the Winter Equinox and the turning of the year....with cut Holly, and Ivy and Mistletoe.

I don't care about the food and presents, but I love the atmosphere everywhere with all the lights and decorations everywhere in the shops, streets and houses. My house is already looking quite cosy with all the red, green and gold and I've only just started.

I could not imagine X-mas without a tree or any decorations. Smiley Happy
