Well, basically......as I see it; taking Egypt, Iraq & Afghanistan as templates. While these places had dictators, those dictators kept several different factions ( normally based along tribal lines ) in line by threatening retribution; on ANY of them that stepped out of line. Then, along came the West with their glorious vision of democracy and toppled these various dictators. As the mindset of democracy is that the majority rules ( however unpalatable that may be ), these Countries have not yet evolved to a level of being able to accept that principle and are therefore not ready for democracy. The West then pulled out and all these Countries descended into anarchy, with the various factions / tribes fighting each other to gain control and to rule the Country by force ( the very thing they didn't like, when somebody ELSE was doing it to them ). There are certain things that are meant to be in this World, People live on Land, Fish live in the Sea, Monkeys live in Trees and Rats live in Sewers etc. etc. the minute you try to impose a " One size fits all " set of morals on EVERYBODY...........you'd better be prepared for the consequences ( especially from those who didn't have any genuine Morals in the first place ).
