Mitchellgate, the aftermath.

Now we have a Police Officer charged with misconduct in a Public Office:-

As to the possibility of other officers and charges, the wording is significant.

It says "Insufficient evidence". Now that means that the DPP thinks that there is insufficient evidence to charge anyone and have a realistic chance of sustaining a sucessful prosecution.

What that also means is that there WAS some evidence but not enough. Had there been NO evidence, the words chosen would have been exactly that, there's NO evidence.

Shouldn't we respect Police Officers. They are upholding the Law. And without Law, our Society would fall into barbarism. Everyone would be fighting and  stealing things all the time.

The Police are a marvellous invention. They're guardians of a Law that stretches throughout the Land. Even into Whitehall and Downing Street.

You cannot respect Police Officers who do things that they shouldn't. It causes loss of confidence in the honesty and integrity of the whole Force.

Those officers shouldn't have contacted the press about the altercation at the gates in the first place and the officer now facing Court shouldn't have placed himself in such a position either.

The Police are not supposed to have a trades union, but the Police Federation have been consistently campaigning against this government, and getting their members to lie about a Cabinet Minister was just their latest despicable action. So, will ex-PC Wallis tell the truth about the role his union played in getting him to lie about Mitchell?

His defence lawyer argued that he should not have been jailed because he was mentally ill and drunk at the time.

'Plebgate' PC seeks £200,000 libel damages from MP Mitchell

The police officer at the centre of the "plebgate" row is seeking libel damages from former Chief Whip Andrew Mitchell of up to £200,000, court papers show.

PC Toby Rowland is suing Mr Mitchell for suggesting the officer was not telling the truth about the dispute at the gates of Downing Street in 2012.

She was the one who told the Media that Mitchell had called the Officers at the Gate '**bleep**'

The Officer who is claming damages, PC Toby Rowland, never ever mentioned that word and He had no charges levelled at Him or are there any pending

All He has ever said is that Mitchell swore at Him

At long last, the Home Secretary has told the Police she is fed up with them acting as if they are above the law, and is stopping our taxes being used to fund their trade union.
