How about we have some choons?

I see that if you click "video", enter a "valid URL" and then click "preview" a message in Red pops up saying to "post a valid video URL".

What's happened??

The bare bones basic routine (on my Windows PC) is to use the Print Screen keyboard key to take a screen image from the YouTube video, or of the eBay video thumbnail (as above), crop and edit as desired in an image editor, save it to the computer, and then upload it via the eBay "Photos" button. Then add the text and the video link below the pic.

Ah, I see, you've not posted an actual video, it's just a still? The video is on your links?

Of course, I mean  "...or of the YouTube video thumbnail"...   (yay, yay... eBay only gives us five short minutes to edit a post...)

Yes, it's a random image - it could be any image.

> "The video is on your links?

Sorry - not sure what you mean.

The image and the video text link are not automatically related or "linked" in any way - I control which image and which link appears...

I meant.... When you click your links, the video then appears.

However, others have been using the GUI. Using the "video" link on the GUI..... a box appears so you can paste the youtube video URL (which you've copied from youtube or wherever) in to it.

Then you click "preview" and when it's working OK you can choose the size and position of your video.

When posted (and after you've clicked "post"), a still of the video appears along with the arrow to click to play the video.

(I posted all that so that those that have never tried it will know what I'm on about).

Yes. i see. The disadvantage is that you have no control over what image appears, and the whole combined image and link unit seems to be at the mercy of eBay and/or YouTube.

My image above is a manipulation of a "screen grab" image from Petal's Pogues video in #1339 - nothing to do with the Snowy White video. They seemed to go well together. I can do that when the picture and the video link I post are unrelated.

Looks like it. Also looks as if the board is under new management - Lithium has disappeared from the bottom right hand corner of the page - now Khoros...

Big Tip -

Don't choose VEVO (big corp) pushed videos
They are of lower quality video & audio
Big companies want You to stream, the good quality ones
and Pay them for it of course

Same olde omission of formatting options for me is the first betch..... as so it goes with clip windows of diminutive nature.

But to my surprise no trackers detected or needing block. [AdBlock Plus & Ghostery with firefox... thank you.]
