It was an album track from 1965, apparently Phil Spector didn't think it was worthy enough for release as a single. A mistake in my opinion, I think it would have been a smash.
A couple of years ago it was used by the BBC to promote Simon Reeves' Australia program, so it started getting a little airplay again.

So He said He wasn't going to play the usual Xmas classics
Slade, Wizzard, Cliff, Bing, Spector etc etc
He later said "I'm going to play one Xmas UK classic"
