There have been discussions similar to this before.I would like to ask Bustysinclaire if he/she has brothers, sisters/ sons/daughters?
If she has, then she had better be praying to her God that they were not born Gay. If any of them were, that would cause real problems...they would have to be cast out and shunned for their 'sin'. It would be interesting to hear if he/she could actually do that...shun a family member. So much for God's word.

Asrtrologica, I have answered that question for you several times over a few years.

No one is born gay, they are born either male or female, they grow up and learn unatural desires which they then themselves choose to follow through with.

I don't recall having a discussion with you about this previously, unless you were posting under a different name. I have asked several JW's on here in the past whether they would actually shun a family member for being gay. Not one has ever replied with a Yes or No answer. I suspect that the true answer would be 'yes'...and that there would be shame and guilt attached to having to admit that they would shun a family member who was BORN gay. It is the most repugnant thing...to be brought up loving a sibling or son or daughter, but then to shun them because of their choice of life partner. JW's get short shrift at my door, and I always bring this topic up. They won't answer the same question either...just spout religious quotations saying that Gays are to be shunned. Well...isn't it in the Bible that we must love others as ourselves? Who among us is without sin? Only JW's it seems.....

Busty,

How and when do they learn these unatural desires and from whom?

Just asking as we have a family friend who came into our family at the age of 3/4 and only wanted to play with my sister's dolls and wanted to be a hairdresser when he grew up. He never played with the boys, nor did he interact with the "boys" games. He only played with girls.

He is gay.

Hi Harry! I totally agree with what you say. I too have a family member who is gay. I think I realised before she did, that she was gay. I love her more than life itself, and the thought that I would have to shun her if I were a JW just makes me weep. Gay folks have a hard enough time in this world without their own families shunning them.

It seems to me a very unforgiving ,intolerant , unloving, cherry picking faith from all I've read on here, in fact now I've learnt more I'm glad that when I last had them round on a n uninvited visit I told them if they came round again the dogs would be let loose!. My only regret is I warned em first! lol.

As usual the unknowing make definitive statements about things of which they've no knowlege. Some people ARE "born funny".

Firstly, the chromosome make up of "normal" males is 46XY. A "normal" female is 46XX.

That is...... in each human cell there are 22 chromosomes inherited from the Mother and 22 from the father, plus, there are an additional two "sex" chromosomes, X and Y. A female has two X, a male has one X and one Y.

Some people have an abnormal mixture of chromosomes, some can be missing, some can have an additional one or two, or there could be 46 but the make-up could be two of one and none of another. To complicate things, part of one chromosome could be attached to another, part missing, part duplicated, part broken off and reattached in a different way even parts broken off and formed in a new shape. Perm any mixture?

All those "mixtures" can lead to a variety of problems of behaviour or living ability.

I think the most common "fault" is Downs syndrome where there are three copies of chromosome 21.

Secondly, as if that wasn't enough, when you start looking at the gemomes..... there's over 20,000 and looking further in to the DNA sequence there's over 6 billion base pairs per cell.......

All in all, there's plenty of room for "abnormalities" which can show up either not at all or in many different ways. However...... it's not been proved whether some people are just "deviant".

It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

As I said before, I respect anyone's faith even though I can't get my head round some of them. Let this not become a bully Busty the JW thread, whatever any of us may feel about their ideas. Asking questions is one thing. Ridicule is something very different. Let's keep that in mind. Smiley Happy

Hello Astro, yes I have answered your question very much in depth on a few occasions under different ID's I had assumed you knew which was who and AKA busty as I have never hidden those facts. My apologies if you didn't, but as I have had a few ID's I cannot recall which ones myself. I have no shame and guilt in anything I feel I have to do with regards my faith, none at all, that to me would prove I have no faith. I have have a gay brother and I love him dearly. No one on this earth is without Sin, and I agree the Bible states what you very caringly quote and JW's to the best of their ability do INMHO I know I try very hard to.

Harry, I sincerely would be happy to answer your questions, If you do wish to havr those answers please message me privately, I request this because I have answered thes questions several times here on this forum and over the years and not been accepted very well,  I do understand how people can feel so strongly as they do about something so sensitive and close to their hearts, believe me. I am not a harsh ogre, it is because of my love for everything in life I choose the course I do.

And thank you Harry fot you kind words.

Tommee, No you correct there a no women Elders, and no I am not one of the 144,000, but I and all have a hope on earth  and will be able to enjoy a woderful life.

Busty.....yes...I do recall our discussion now, although I can't remember the name you posted under at the time. I also recall that you said that you have a brother who is gay. You said that although you love him , you don't associate with him...you love him, but not his 'sin'.. So yes...I did get an answer...and the answer is 'Yes..you would , and have, cast out a family member because they are gay.
I don't want to offend you, or bully you, and I respect your Faith, but All I can say is..It makes me feel so sad for for your brother.

So do I astro, very very much, because I do love him. It isn't easy to not be able to support him. But at the end of the day it is his choice to be like he is. I also feel very very sad and sorry for his ex wife and 2 lovely daughters, he now is missing out on a grandaughter too (who are not JW's by the way)

I don't believe that it is complete and literal shunning, because as I have said before, we do love him and would never turn him away we are only making a stand where the Gay part is concerned.

Dead or Meditating?

A court has been called to rule on whether a wealthy guru is dead or in a transcendental meditative state.

One of the wealthiest spiritual leaders in India has either been dead or in a transcendental meditative state since January. The Telegraph's Dean Nelson reports from New Delhi that a court has now been asked to settle the matter.

Ashutosh Maharaj is presently in a commercial freezer in his ashram, guarded by elders within the multinational sect (or, self-described "socio-spiritual-cultural, not-for profit organization") that he created. His followers insist that Maharaj is in a state of transcendent bliss called samadhi, a central tenet of traditional yoga in which a yogi becomes one with the universe. Upon moving all of your prana (currents of energy) up your spine and into your head, according to the seminal yoga manual Hatha Yoga Pradipika, a yogi can become "as if dead."

Sudanese authorities are to free a woman who was sentenced to death for having abandoned the Islamic faith, a foreign ministry official says.

Meriam Ibrahim, who gave birth to a daughter in custody, will be freed in a few days' time, the official said.

Abdullahi Alzareg, an under-secretary at the foreign ministry, said Sudan guaranteed religious freedom and was committed to protecting the woman.

Khartoum has been facing international condemnation over the death sentence.
