Chin mask?

Hi - My 1st posting here, (from the states), so please be gentle...   Too many here are wearing their masks on their chins instead of their faces. It seems that some of them delight in doing this. I think they are trumpers mostly. Does the UK chin require mask protection? I don't think the state's chins are particularly vunerable to "chin" ailments either.                          Here, there are so many ignorant folks that refuse to wear a mask or understand why they should do so. A lot of this stems from the orange faced guy that was in the white house, but people should have better sense.     How is it there?

Chin mask?

I know one person who died - in a care home, it was sad, he had to go in because his wife had to have an op! He caught it in the home, having had a stroke 8 years ago, so was in a wheelchair and in his 80's.

Am I worried - no,  450 people die of a heart attack every day (figures pre covid BHF) , my family know no-one personally who has actually had covid, only  two supposed postive testings, they did not know anything was wrong with them!  I live opposite an old peoples home and have seen one lady celebrate her 100 and 101st birthdays in April - as far as I know no one in there has been ill.  I have made it a regular question of friends - Do you know anyone who has died of Covid???  The answer has always been a consistent - No.

Am I just lucky or is it something that happens to certain social groups for specific reasons that we have not yet worked out?  Who knows - ask a Chinese man in Wuhan.

Same here. I've lost quite a few friends and family this past year, not one of them because of Covid. One was a heart attack, and 2 were cancer. Bothe the cancer patients I believe could have been treated had they been diagnosed sooner. Why weren't they disgnosed sooner? Because they couldn't see a doctor during those early days of lockdown.

I am a transplant patient so I'm extremely vulnerable, but I'm more concerned that so may young people have taken their own lives during lockdown, and that so many cancer patients haven't had their medical needs met.

Yes there is a virus but I don't believe the latest strains are half as virulent as they would have us believe, some people don't even know they've got it.

Chin mask?

Sorry to hear that oldcoin. I am not a doubter covid exists, but question the issues that surround it. As Guinevere says many have suffered because of the lack of healthcare due to Covid. I have prostate cancer and my treatment has been really bad during covid. I have had issues AND I have even had hospital staff who question some of the issues surrounding covid. There are a lot of contradictions, things that do not make sense and ALOT of money has been made and IS being made from Covid. A lot of people have become stars because of covid and a lot of people have died because of covid and not from it!
The number of supposed cases in the UK (5million) means one in every 13 people have had covid - strange the hundreds of people I know and yet know practically none who have had/died from it??

There are also many ignorant folk who don’t know what constitutes a mask, don’t know what the exemption criteria are and don’t know you don’t have to prove exemption. Ignorance is among us in abundance and so I think it a bit unfair to pick on people wearing masks on their chin.

` This is from his anti-mask stance where he refused to wear one & encouraged others not to wear one`

not sure i buy that one, everyone has a choice, i don`t recall him ever pointing a gun to anyone`s head and telling them not to wear one 🙂

Personally, i`ve never stopped wearing a mask, especially in shops and i`m surprised by just how many are`nt wearing them. The general view over here seems to be that people have had enough of the rules and don`t care anymore and in my opinion, we`ll see how much they care when this hits the fan after christmas!
