HI PETAL, that is what i meant, still does not work.
just looked at another orange page, and they are saying if the money is not used by 31st november, and i do not buy a new phone,or go on a monthly contract i lose all the money, because the phone becomes defunct.
what i would like to know is,can they legally do this?
also how many people are going to be unaware of this develpoment?
its day light robbery on the grandest scale.
shall go to the shop to-morrow,and demand my money back.

What money in what fund are you threatened with losing?
Did you have a contract with them? If so, it may depend on what the terms were and whether this constitutes an unfair T&C.

Also, you could email either MoneyBox or You and Yours on BBC Radio 4 and give them the clear and simple facts - and ask them to investigate.
Sometimes a bit of unwelcome publicity has the effect you'd like to achieve.

All such a worry, innit.

From what I can see it's perfectly legal.
It was a promotional offer with certain conditions attached, not much different from coupons in newspapers, they can only be used in particular circumstances.
