It seems to be coming more common for buyers to win auctions and just not bother paying, this has happened to me twice in a couple of weeks.
I'm rapidly losing faith in ebay. Is anyone else finding this?
Not personally, no. But I have my Buyer Requirements set tight, so I suggest you do the same if you haven't already done so (Account...Site Preferences...Buyer Requirements). Pay particular attention to the one which blocks those with 2+ Unpaid Item strikes in 12 months.
I hope you opened Unpaid Item cases against your non-payers, and closed them as 'unpaid' after 4 full days to get your selling fee credited back to your Ebay account, and to give the timewasters Unpaid Item strikes on their accounts. (Only then are you free to safely relist, by the way, or you risk getting two buyers for the same item, plus all the problems that will naturally cause.) I hope you also added their Ebay IDs to your Blocked Bidders List so they can't darken your doorway again.
Yes it is does happen unfortunately. You need to Open an Unpaid Item Case in the Resolution Centre after 2 days and Close on day 5. Your Ebay Final Value Fees will be Credited back to your Seller Account. The Non Payer will receive a Non Payment Strike. 2 of those in 12 months and they will find it very difficult to Buy on Ebay as Sellers can Block Buyers with 2 or More Unpaid Strikes from Account Tab >> Site Preferences >>Buyer Requirements.
Put yours on your Blocked Bidders List.
I have`nt listed anything as auction for years, i just figure out a fair and reasonable price, list as buy it now with immediate payment required, it sells, it doesn`t, no time wasters or non payers.
I have had two in the last month which is very unusual. I have members with two or more strikes blocked and there is usually quite a bit of activity there when I look.
If only all members completed unpaid cases and also set their preferences to block them. It seems to me that so many members are happy to pay selling fees for not being paid.
